School History

The School opened in February, 1983, in the former Verdun Primary School premises situation on Onkaparinga Valley Road, Verdun. At the end of 2008 there will be 330 children enrolled.

It is an inter-denominational School which was established by concerned parents who desired a good standard of education for their children in a caring, disciplined environment, where Christian values and principles are actively supported and nurtured.

The School has no formal links to any particular Church or denomination but maintains close informal links with all local Christian Churches. The School is open (as far as its resources shall permit) to all students regardless of their parents' economic status and Church affiliation, provided that the parents can genuinely support the aims of the school.

Since its establishment, there have been many improvements made to the site. Some of the developments include new classrooms, a multipurpose facility, library, computer suite and Indonesian room. 2006/2007 saw the replacement of playground equipment and shade. In 2008 an extension was made to the existing multipurpose facility to provide for a growing school and a refurbishment of the Resource Centre which included the upgrade of PC’s in the computer suite.

The adjoining property was purchased in 1995 to provide more play space, a suite of rooms for music and our Out of School Hours Care program. 2008 will see the development of an Early Learning Centre on this site. Enrolments will commence in 2009 for pre-school aged children.

In 2004 we had the opportunity to purchase another adjoining property which has been incorporated into the School’s Master Plan to include 4 classrooms, a hall with amenities and car parking. The implementation of the Master Plan will be staged over the next 5-10 years.
