Facilities at ELC
HCCS ELC is fortunate to be located in the scenic beauty of the Adelaide Hills. The Centre is set on top of a hill overlooking both the School and the surrounding hillsides, including the vines of Maximilian’s Restaurant. Access to all of the HCCS facilities, including the recently acquired Rivermont Property (9 acres for Nature Play), allows for a well-resourced program, including use of the School’s Resource Centre, Hall (PE lessons) and Beaumont Building (music and movement), a space that also houses the HCCS Playgroup.
The purpose built centre, which is registered for 36 children each day, incorporates a light filled, open plan area with flexible furniture, which is regularly rearranged to stimulate new learning opportunities. The use of natural timber, wherever possible, creates a warm, relaxing and grounded environment. The yard includes a spacious undercover area allowing for outside play in all weather conditions.
The ELC children regularly visit the Rivermont Property, which provides for real opportunities to engage in Nature Play. We are blessed to have such a large area of natural environment on our doorstep.
Visiting the ELC is included in the Verdun Campus tour and highlights the Learning Spaces accessed by the ELC students in the Primary School.
School tours are led by the Principal or Deputy Principal/Enrolment Officer or by upper primary students during Open Mornings.
