As in the Primary School, Christian faith is the ‘fabric of HCCS’ and is expressed in the way students are respected as unique and precious as with all relationships within the School community. This Christian approach continues at Oakbank where Chapel, House Meetings and Assemblies alternate on every Tuesday morning at 8.40am. Guest speakers are regularly invited from Adelaide Hills Churches and other local community organisations to share with students. HCCS Secondary also shares our whole school celebrations like Easter and Christmas Worship Services as well as the Year 8 Mission Trip to Fiji and the Year 9 Mission Trip to Adelaide helping the homeless. HCCS Secondary continues to support local charities and employs Christian teachers so Christian faith is experienced and shared at HCCS.
Secondary students meet in Home Groups each morning and this time will include devotions and notices. Students also participate in regular Chapel Services, House meetings and assemblies to nurture and pastorally care for each young person. The House meetings are vertically grouped with Year 8 to Year 12 students and Secondary staff responsible for the pastoral care. They are wonderfully supported by our Counsellors/Chaplains John Adams and Bek Brown.
