Development of leaders is seen as an integral part of HILLS life within the Secondary School.
Secondary students have the opportunity to be elected to the Secondary Student Voice (SSV) which has a similar role as the SRC at Primary. House Leaders are also elected to represent their teams in various campus events at HILLS Secondary.
Secondary Student Voice
The SSV is available for students from Year 8 to Year 12 and has two students elected from each year level, who are elected by their peers. Students meet regularly with staff to discuss student based initiatives every fortnight. Training of SSV members is an important part of the process.
The SSV looks for opportunities to improve the life of students at HILLS Secondary.
Beaumont, Gallasch, Grivell and Sandow are the 4 Houses at HILLS and each House has elected Captains and Vice-Captains. House Captains are elected from Year 11 with Deputies from Year 8 – 10 elected to support and offer perspective from across all year levels.
School Captains and Vice-Captains
Each year HILLS elects their School Captains and Vice Captains. The selection process includes a speech to the students and staff, an election by peers and an agreement by staff. The positions are prestigious in the life of HILLS Secondary.
